Mvt. 1: "Winter's Carol (FI)" opens with a midnight sleigh ride through the frozen countryside. The melody of “Carol of the Bells” evokes a sense of urgency to escape the frost and chill, as the beautiful wonderland of snow and ice is revealed by Antonio Vivaldi’s “Winter” from The Four Seasons.
